It can be quite exciting to catch a high level Pokemon, especially if you are in the early sections of the game. It might seem like you’ve finally caught your trump card, the only Pokémon that will join you on the Elite Four in record time. The stakes are high and you seek to turn the tide of battle by deploying your dominated Pokémon, but your beloved Umbreon refuses to comply. This can be infuriating, but don’t worry, because we’re here to explain why your Pokémon won’t obey.
Why is my Pokémon loitering?
When a Pokémon refuses to obey, that means that you Don‘I don’t have enough gym badges to control it properly.. You’ll mostly see this behavior in high level Pokemon, especially those that are drastically taller than the rest of your party. While they occasionally comply, they disobey most of the time. To solve this problem, you need to collect more gym badges.

The number of Gym Badges you have directly correlates to the Pokémon you can properly control. Once you’ve earned a Gym Badge, you can command Pokémon up to level 25. After you’ve acquired two Gym Badges, you can successfully call in Pokémon up to level 30. This level convention continues every five levels, up to seven Gym Badges. Gym . Once you have eight Gym Badges, you’ll be able to successfully control Pokémon of any level and shouldn’t have any disobedience issues. This mechanic prevents players from going through the game with a high-level Pokemon, putting all trainers on a level playing field.
