During the first few minutes of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you might be frustrated to find that you can only walk at an abysmally slow pace. That changes quickly before you head into Poco Path, but some players were still frustrated by the speed at which they could get through Paldea. Reddit users finally discovered a method to run even faster, taking advantage of what appears to be a bug in the game. Here’s how to run faster using two controllers in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to run faster with two controls in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
If you have additional controllers for your Nintendo Switch system, you’re in luck. Power up Pokémon Scarlet or Violet as you normally would, then power up your additional controller. It’ll try to register and then stop, and you won’t see any indicator lights on, but try pressing the left sticks of both controllers together at an angle and you’ll notice a significant increase in speed.

This is likely an unintentional glitch, as a commenter on the original Reddit post explains. The game may be accidentally adding input from both joysticks together. This “trick” appears to be limited to diagonal running, as the speed increase is not noticeable while the player’s input is directly on one axis (pushing the joystick directly forward or backward). If you try this, your results may also vary depending on the brand of drivers you are using.
