Growlithe and its evolution Arcanine are some of the best Fire-type Pokémon out there. Fortunately, they’re in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet and can even be found early on. Once you catch a Growlithe, you may be wondering how to evolve it into Arcanine in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
How to Get Arcanine in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
To evolve Growlithe into Arcanine in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, you need to get a Firestone. Growlithe will not evolve by leveling up, only by using a fire stone. You can buy fire stones at the delibird presents shops for 3000 Poké Dollars, but first you must have beaten three Gym Leaders.

You can also find Fire Stones in the wild from Paldea if you prefer to get one before. The best place to get one is north of Artazon along the river bank of Area Two of the Eastern Province. We have marked the location on the map below.
After you get a fire stone, you simply need to use it on your Growlithe for it to evolve into Arcanine. Press X to open your main menu and select Stocks. Scroll down to the Other Items tab, the candy icon, and then find the Fire Stone. Select it and then use it on Growlithe to turn it into Arcanine in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
