How to beat Gym Leader Larry in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Normal-Type Gym Leader Larry is an astonishingly precise everyman, complete with low self-esteem and a bone to pick with his boss. His pent-up frustration shines through his Pokémon’s powerful physical moves, so you’ll need to play smart or get knocked out. If you need help challenging Medali’s Gym, this is our best advice.

How to Beat Normal Gym Leader Larry in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Larry will use three Pokémon to face you: a level 35 komalaa level 35 dudunsparceand a level 36 staraptor which will use a Normal-type Tera Form when it enters battle. The first two Pokemon shouldn’t give you much trouble, but Larry’s final Pokemon, Staraptor, will hit you hard with Facade. It’s a Normal-type move that increases its power if Staraptor is afflicted with status ailments, so be careful not to accidentally give this Pokémon an advantage.

Good Pokemon to use in this fight include fighting type Pokemon, as they have an offensive advantage against Normal-types. pawmot or quaquaval, if you chose Quaxley for your launcher, it works fine for this. Although, there are plenty of other Fighting-type Pokemon for you to choose from. If you want to be more defensive, add steel type either rock type Pokémon to your party, as Normal-type moves will be less effective against them.

What is the secret Treasure Eatery menu item in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Before you can challenge Larry, Medali’s Gym in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet will require you to order a secret menu item from the best restaurant in town, treasure restaurant. It is the largest restaurant near the first location on the map above. To find out what the secret menu item is, you’ll need to defeat three Normal-type gym trainers around town at the locations marked above. They will give you hints, as well as a discreet man in a black suit sitting at the counter of Treasure Eatery.

If you want to skip the battles instead of gaining experience, this is what you should ask the waiter in green at the front of the restaurant: grilled rice balls, medium portion, fire explosion stylewith Lemon.
