How many acts in Penance

Pentiment is a point-and-click role-playing game set in medieval Europe in the 16th century. You play the role of Andreas Maler, an artist who works in an abbey while living in the nearby town. But when a Baron is murdered in the Abbey, his friend is accused and you must try to solve the mystery yourself. But there is more to the story than initially meets the eye. We’ll see how many acts there are in Pentiment before the mystery is solved next. Warning: the following contains spoilers.

How long does Penance last?

the penance is over three acts. During the first you will have investigate the murder of the baron, gathering evidence against various suspects both in the Abbey and in the village. The first act ends with the execution of the sentence in the alleged murderer. In the second act, Andreas returns to the Abbey several years later and finds himself involved in a second murder apparently related to the first. The third act is shorter and murder-free as you take on a different role and the story wraps up. In general, Pentiment should bring the average player about 20 hours to play once.

However, it should also be noted that a single game of Pentiment will not be enough to complete all the Steam or Game Pass achievements. If you’re careful, you should be able to complete the third act achievements in one try. But you’re going to need to see every indictable suspect in both murder investigations executed to catch them all, which means at least three playthroughs of the first two acts.
