Weather has been a big part of the Pokemon series, especially in Pokemon Sword and Shield, but do Pokemon Scarlet and Violet use it to the same extent? Can you control the weather or switch your Nintendo Switch system to a specific day to get a particular type of weather? Well, here is everything we know about how to change the weather in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
How to change the weather in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
No, you can’t change the weather while in the open world in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet; you are purely in the hands of the dynamic weather system. You cannot change any switch settings, such as the time or date, to force a particular weather to occur. You can only wait in-game for about five minutes or so for the weather to change. It may not be the weather you want, but in that case, you have to wait longer. This is currently the only method to change the weather in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Even if you use a weather-changing move in a Pokémon battle, the effects only last for the battle. The effects do not continue in open world exploration.

How does the weather affect Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?
Weather only affects a few things in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. First, you can’t have a picnic during terrible weather, like a storm. This weather prevents you from having a picnic outside. You will have to find a cave or wait.
Second, the weather causes certain Pokemon to appear. So if there are any specific Pokemon, always check the map and your radar for any new Pokemon, which are not normally in the area you are in.
