Are shiny Paradox Pokémon locked to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Paradox Pokémon are future or past versions of most of the Pokémon in Scarlet & Violet’s Pokédex. You can capture them at Area Zero later in the game. But since there are a lot of things that are brilliantly locked in the game, from starters to NPC-traded Pokemon, you might be wondering if Paradox Pokemon are brilliantly locked too. Let’s find out.

Can I shiny hunt Pokémon Paradox in Scarlet & Violet?

Since Paradox Pokémon can be found naturally in the “wild” state, they are not bright blocked. There will always be a 1/4096 chance of seeing a shiny Paradox Pokémon. You can even eat sandwiches outside of Area Zero and keep the boost effects from the shiny encounter when you enter it.

Hunting will be more difficult as there are no massive outbreaks for them. Therefore, we recommend that you wait until you have the Shiny Charm before attempting to hunt Paradox shiny Pokémon.
